Dafne is a vase inspired by the sculpture Apollo and Daphne (1623-1625) by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The artwork depicts the transformation of the nymph Daphne into a laurel tree to escape Apollo, capturing the moment when her hands and hair turn into branches and leaves. Like all of Berniniโs sculptures, it is designed to be admired from every angle, enhancing the sense of movement and metamorphosis. The Dafne vase pays homage to this masterpiece through a cylindrical shape, a pure geometric figure, that transforms into bark, creating a dynamic object that changes depending on the point of view.

Hasos is a letter opener in white or black porcelain inspired by the painting David with the Head of Goliath (1609-1610) by Caravaggio. The artwork, sent to Cardinal Scipione Borghese as a plea for pardon, depicts David holding the severed head of Goliath, to which the artist gave his own face as a condemned man. A lateral element is Davidโs sword, which bears the inscription "H AS O S," an acronym of the Augustinian motto "Humilitas Occidit Superbiam" (Humility killed pride). The Hasos letter opener pays tribute to this detail by reinterpreting the sword, stripped of its dangerous elements like sharp edges. However, the same inscription remains engraved on the surface, symbolizing an eternal struggle between humility and pride.

Amor is a porcelain centerpiece finished with gold in the third firing, inspired by the painting Sacred and Profane Love (circa 1515) by Titian. The artwork, one of the most enigmatic in art history due to its complex symbolism, features at its center an elegant metal centerpiece decorated with finely crafted arches along the edges. The Amor centerpiece recalls this central element, reinterpreting it in a contemporary way while preserving the elegance and rhythm of the decorative arches with bas-reliefs on the porcelain.

Scrivente is a pencil in white or black porcelain inspired by the painting Saint Jerome Writing (1605-1606) by Caravaggio. The artwork portrays the saint deeply immersed in writing with a feather quill, a symbol of knowledge and meditation. The Scrivente pencil pays homage to the quill, capturing its formal purity through sharp geometries, edges, and precise cuts. The upper cut, with its oval shape, echoes the feathers depicted in the painting. The pencil is completed with an interchangeable graphite tip lasting up to 15 km.

Spiro is an organizer inspired by the Cantharus-shaped vases designed by Massimiliano Laboureur and Lorenzo Cardelli, characterized by their seasonal decorations and handles made of helical ribbons. The Spiro organizer takes inspiration from the handle element, reinterpreting it into a simplified and modern structure. Placed on a slightly concave linear "ingot," it plays with solids and voids, creating a dynamic visual rhythm. The voids created by the helical structure are designed to hold desk items such as letters, pens, and business cards.

Info and contacts
Coprotagonisti is a collection of narrative porcelain objects born from the collaboration between Galleria Borghese and BHUMI Ceramica, aimed at celebrating the dialogue between art and contemporary design.
The pieces are inspired by some of the most iconic artworks in the Museum: from the paintings of Caravaggio and Titian to the statues of Bernini. Specifically, the focus was on details in the artworks and rooms that, while not central to the compositions, are essential to their completeness and narrative. These details have been reinterpreted to become protagonists themselves within the objects. A tribute to artistic mastery and the narrative power of details.
